Radiesse® is an FDA approved cosmetic filler used in the treatment/correction of deep lines and wrinkles. It is the alternative to implant surgery, when injected into mid-face, cheekbones, hands, nose and chin to restore lost volume for a more youthful appearance.

Dr. Christine uses Radiesse® for:

  • Deep Laugh lines
  • Deep Marionette Lines
  • Cheek Augmentation
  • Chin Augmentation
  • Non-Surgical Nose Reshaping

Radiesse® is made of tiny, smooth, calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres; the same material in our teeth and bones. These microspheres form a foundation and naturally stimulate your own collagen production in the treatment area. As we age, we lose collagen, connective tissue and fat, leaving droopy, fallen skin behind. With sequential injections, long lasting volume is restored to the face resulting in a natural and more youthful appearance. When a dermal filler, such as Radiesse® is combined with a neuromodulator, such as Botox, the patient appears well rested, more youthful and easily 10-15 years younger as seen below. By augmenting the cheeks, the deep nasolabial folds (laugh lines) lift and appear smoother without having to directly inject them.

RADIESSE® AND OTHER FILLERS

There is a wide range of fillers that Dr. Christine utilizes in her practice. Her choice of filler depends entirely on the patient’s cosmetic objective, as well as the specific areas of concern to the patient. When dealing with deep folds or large areas requiring volume, Dr. Christine’s prefers Radiesse®. It is the only filler that forms a foundation that naturally stimulates collagen production.

Dr. Christine usually combines fillers to create the “Stacking Effect”. It is where fillers like Radiesse® are injected to correct deep volume losses and fillers such as Belotero® and Juvederm® are injected more superficially to create a more flawless appearance.

In the above patient, Dr. Christine would have recommended contouring the outline of the patient’s lips with Juvederm®. That would replete the volume lost in the lips over the years. It is not uncommon for newer patients to have such procedures injected over multiple visits, as it allows them to pace the process and ensure a natural outcome. For follow up yearly visits, most patients prefer to combine rejuvenation procedures so that they are able to enjoy the full effect simultaneously.

HOW LONG WILL RADIESSE® LAST?

Dr. Christine’s results have shown that Radiesse® can last up to a year or longer. Touch up treatments may be necessary to maintain desired correction.

WHAT IS HAND REJUVENATION?

Hands are the most age telling feature we possess. Radiesse® makes it possible to re-plump hands, instantly returning them to a more youthful appearance. Dr. Christine places the Radiesse® just below the skin level; elevating the surface to decrease vein and bone prominence. In under 15 minutes, Dr. Christine can restore your hands to more youthful, soft and supple ones.

RADIESSE® FOR NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY

Radiesse® offers a quick, immediate, non-surgical, non-invasive procedure for nose reshaping that no other filler can provide. This procedure is commonly known as a Non-Surgical Nose Job or Rhinoplasty. Radiesse® offers a unique composition that is extremely versatile and can build up the bridge of your nose, camouflage a hump, straighten sharp edges, balance asymmetry, or correct defects and shape the nose tip. You do not have to wait to see results. They are immediate and correction can last up to one year. Dr. Christine uses dermal fillers such as Radiesse® to fill in depressed areas on the nose, lift the angle of the tip or correct indents. This gives the nose an overall smooth and straight effect, making the nose appear smaller.

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR RADIESSE®

A few precautions should be taken before any injections. Avoid using aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, St. John’s Wort, fish oils, or high doses of vitamin E supplements prior to treatment. These medications may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Dr. Christine recommends that you take Arnica tablets or apply Arnica gels prior to any injectable procedure. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, Dr. Christine may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A RADIESSE® TREATMENT?

Radiesse® usually provides up to 80 percent improvement immediately after treatment. Radiesse® injection is a simple, outpatient procedure performed under a topical local anesthetic. Dr. Christine ‘s patients speak highly of her artistic ability to contour the face and helping them look 10-15 years younger for one year or more. After your procedure, you may experience minimal swelling, which usually subsides in 24 to 36 hours. Although infrequent; there may also be some discomfort and bruising. Any discomfort can be managed with frequent icing or medication post your procedure. Normal activities can be resumed immediately; however, patients are advised to stay out of the sun and avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.
