Forehead/Worry lines

Before & 1 week after Botox® Cosmetic was injected for forehead waves for a patient in her 30’s Being a younger patient, she only created visible wrinkles during her normal, day to day facial expressions. Note that once this patient was treated with Botox® for the treatment of her wrinkles, her forehead became smooth, soft and youthful.

Forehead/Worry Lines

Before & 1 week after Botox® Cosmetic injection for forehead waves for a patient in her 50’s. In this patient, wrinkles were seen with and without facial expressions. Therefore, despite her first Botox® injection, she remains to have visible signs of wrinkles. Post treatment, her forehead muscle is weakened and she is not able to completely raise her forehead as in her “Before” photo. Subsequent treatments with Botox® Cosmetic will eliminate visible wrinkles and achieve comparable results to the patient in her 30’s.

Botox® is the brand name of a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum that has been sterilized for the purpose of injecting small, diluted amounts into specific muscles to weaken and eliminate facial wrinkles.

Repetitive facial contractions (smiling, squinting or frowning) create visible lines and wrinkles. Botox® tells your facial muscles to relax and not fire a contraction, thus softening existing lines and minimizing new ones.

Absolutely! Dr. Christine’s techniques with Botox® treatments relax the patient’s wrinkles and lines while still allowing natural facial expressions. Patients generally appear up to 10 years younger, post treatment.

Dr. Christine utilizes her patient’s feedback to achieve their most desired cosmetic outcome. Each patient is unique in their facial expressions, and Dr. Christine’s goal is to maintain their genuine expressions while recapturing their youth.

When we take photographs, we try our best to face the camera with our “best side”. We quickly learn through trial and error, which angle is best for our face as well as our body. Virtually everyone has some asymmetry of their facial features. Some asymmetries may be subtle, however, others can be so dramatic and noticeable, which may lead to social debilitation.

Asymmetry can be present in virtually any facial feature: jawline, cheeks, lips, nostrils, eyes and eyebrows. Some we are born with, some are consequences of medical complications such as strokes, while others are simply a function of how we sleep. Not all features are meant to be corrected, and some are easier to correct than others.

In the past, only surgical correction of such asymmetries was the answer. With the advent of Botox® and fillers, patients no longer need to succumb to such extremes to create facial symmetry.

Eyebrows are one of the easier asymmetrical features visibly seen. They frame the eyes and can accentuate the windows to our soul. For some patients, asymmetry of the eyebrows can be subtle and the correction minimally noticeable. For other patients, as seen below, the asymmetry can be dramatic and the correction more noticeable and life altering.

Botox® Cosmetic as well as dermal fillers are vital tools for Dr. Christine’s artistry and when creating visibly natural facial symmetry.

Dr. Christine creates treatment programs to assist at all stages of wrinkles; from moderate to severe. She has great success with achieving a patient’s desired cosmetic goal at every level – including preventative programs. Some patients present to see Dr. Christine before they have any visible wrinkles to discuss prevention. They may notice certain facial expressions such as squinting when they read and simply require education and a referral to an eye doctor.  For other patients, they come in when they have deep furrows that give their loved ones the impression that they are angry.

Most of Dr. Christine‘s patients know when they are ready for a long term solution. Since every patient is unique in their appearance and their desires, Dr. Christine spends a great deal of time listening.  When dealing with new patients, she chooses the more conservative route and lets them know that she can always add more Botox® during their follow-up session if they so desired. Her approach is unique in that she educates her patients, gives them protocol parameters, followed by her treatment plan, leaving room to add units if the patient desires less movement of their facial muscles.  Starting Botox® treatments when wrinkles first appear can prevent those wrinkles from becoming deep and more prominent.

The amount of Botox® needed depends on your age and your desired goal. As one gets older and wrinkles become deeper, more Botox® is needed to eliminate or soften the wrinkles.

Dr. Christine offers a complimentary consultation to evaluate your facial muscles and discusses all your options once she gains an understanding of your desired outcome. During your consultation, Dr. Christine will ask you a series of questions, show you several potential Botox® treatment outcomes and answer any questions needed to allow you to make the right decision for you. Dr. Christine‘s approach is very conservative and she will formulate an anti-aging treatment plan that will give you the best results possible while allowing you to age gracefully.

Each individual’s body is unique in how quickly or slowly Botox® is metabolized from the system. Dr. Christine’s patients report that their Botox® injections typically last up to six months.

YES, Botox® Cosmetic is used by both men and women. Today’s successful men take pride in their appearance and wish to look their best. Botox® treatments are part of a personal care regimen, such as working out or dressing for success. Many men choose Botox® Cosmetic because it is a simple, non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that can have them looking 10-15 years younger.

There is no recovery time needed. Botox® Cosmetic can be injected in minutes during your lunch break or on your way to work. Dr. Christine approaches Botox® treatments in a conservative manner and her patients rarely experience side effects. Numbing cream may be applied prior to your procedure and she uses cold rollers throughout to ensure your comfort and to minimize the risk of pain or bruising.  If you experience any side effects, they are not permanent and may include pain/redness from injection, headaches (rare), flu-like symptoms (rare), or droopy eye lid (reversible).  It is important that your injection be administered by a highly skilled physician to minimize undesired outcomes.

Botox® was first approved by the FDA in 1989 to treat eye muscle disorders; blepharospasm (uncontrollable blinking) and strabismus (lazy eyes). In the year 2000, it was approved to treat cervical dystonia (a disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder contractions). It was accidentally discovered that post treatment of the eye disorders, Botox® softened wrinkles around the eyes. In April 2002, the FDA approved Botox® for cosmetic use.  It is a completely safe modality used by millions for the prevention and treatment of unwanted facial wrinkles.

Excessive sweating or Hyperhidrosis is the medical condition of having overactive sweat glands. It affects over 3 million Americans and only those patients who have it know firsthand how uncomfortable and embarrassing it can be. Common problem areas for this condition are the hands, underarms and feet.

Hyperhidrosis patients have “supercharged” nerves which cause excessive sweating. Dr. Christine utilizes Botox® treatments to relax these nerves and offer relief to the patient for up to 12 months.
